Red Clover Award

And the winner is…Shh! We Have a Plan by Chris Haughton!

Here’s the final Red Clover Award vote tally.

This fall’s Red Clover Award conference will take place on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, so save the date! We are thrilled that Kate Messner has agreed to keynote and Tanya Lee Stone will offer the endnote. Both will sign books that day (Norwich Bookstore will sell books all day). Registration materials will be posted here and announced on the VSLA and VTYAC listservs as soon as they’re available.

There were so many books to choose from, but here are the Red Clover Award 2016-2017 nominees!

There is no educator resource guide this year. We will begin to upload activities for the new nominees in mid-May 2016 and will continue to update them as needed.

Be sure to visit the Red Clover Award website where you’ll find lots of great links, activities and resources for this year’s nominees, along with past nominees and award winners. Thanks to committee members (and school librarians) Carol Scrimgeour and Kate Davie for all your hard work!Talk with other educators on the Red Clover Award blog.

The Red Clover Award promotes the reading and discussion of the best of contemporary picture books in nearly all of Vermont’s elementary schools. Each year over 20,000 K-4 students read, or have read to them, the ten nominated books.

The Red Clover Award is co-sponsored by the Vermont Center for the Book / Mother Goose Programs, the Vermont Department of Libraries and the Vermont Agency of Education.
